Anyone live in Plano, Texas?

Milla is going to come and visit for a while!

Thank you to the amazingly generous and supportive Stephen DiDuro, I will be in Plano from the 6th of July to the 15th of July to record for Freedom Planet 2! Talk about a dream!

If you live there, please message me with some places to go and things to see!
Excitement is at all new heights! :)

Oh dearie me, how time flies!

Hello fellow newgrounders, I have missed you all.
My absence is close to inexcusable- I invested so much of the last 6 years in my voice acting (Obviously with the exception of the last year) and I feel like I've lost a lot of momentum now! Hopefully some of you still remember me!

How to describe my last year... Well, chaotic.
I've moved 3 times, so in all honesty my microphone didn't leave it's dusty, cardboard box for much of that time.
I'm currently living with my partner, having finally gotten a new iMac and unpacked my microphone, and I think I'm ready to ease back into voice acting. Slowly.

In all honesty, I've missed it greatly. My boyfriend once made a remark that he was concerned I didn't have hobbies anymore! Unfortunately (and both fortunately!) voice acting is such a demanding, all-encompassing hobby to have, which makes it very tricky to balance with full-time committments. Netflix is such an easier hobby to have.

But I took a great plunge tonight, auditioning for one project (Pale Spec on the VAA- Check it out!), and realised that I am off my game! I used to pull off accents with ease.. I must say it took me a few too many attempts to get it somewhat-acceptable!
So bear with me, I'll get my groove back.

Send me a message at Aimee.SmithVA@gmail.com should you require a voice actress!
I'm dipping my little toe back in the water, so here we go again!

FREEEEEEDOM PLANETTTTTTTT!

It's on Steam. Right now.

I am beyond proud of how well it has been recieved... In the last 24hrs it's been played by Yogcast Zoey & Yogscast Martyn and they NERDGASMED! Ahhhhhhhh! XD

The last few days has just been a tornado of Freedom Planet (At the very least, a tornado of emotions!)- Thank you for all of your support! The Galaxytrail Team hope you like what we've worked so hard on the last few years, and we could not have done it without the suport of our beta testers, those that told their friends about the game, made fan art, or simply were silent observers right until the end.

If you bought a T-Shirt during the Teespring campaign, be sure to send a photo this way!  We'll put them all together in a collage or something :)

I'm gonna be real punchy this time around! No more of these long-winded newsposts that take an hour to make...

THE JUGGERNAAAAAAAAUT
Receiving a front page and daily third place, the Juggernaut II has come to town! Featuring the voices of myself, Draginite, JackPlissken & KirbzVA- Has been a long time in the making, so make sure to check it out!

I'M A PRINCESS!!!!
In other very, very exciting news: I found out in the last couple of weeks that I got cast in Scandinavia and the World's animated series! They smashed their Kickstarter goal- Follow this link to their Kickstarter- and have already released a couple of their animations, and man... They are cool.

It may be obvious to some, but I'll be voicing Sister Australia. You can check out one of the animated segments featuring me and Casper Christensen (Denmark):

PROJECT EPSILON
One final note- Project Epsilon is an animated web series that has been a long time in the making, and they have just launched their Kickstarter. The coolest McCoolest person ever is also voicing in this with me... SirUndead! That's right, so it's bound to be awesome. Check it out, and give it some love!

As always, thanks for the support, and if you want more instant updates or audition opportunities, like my Facebook Page!

Till next time! XD

Wow. I'm so sorry; I've become really, really slack.
Three months have completely flown by without my realising I hadn't been making newsposts here! Should you wish this to change, you can certainly like my Facebook Page which has at the very least a weekly posting of my adventures and audition opportunities for you lovely people! Or... You can just be mean and send me hate messages... I PERSONALLY RECOMMEND SPREADING LIKES AND NOT HATES XD

Tooooo The Projects!

- Freedom Planet: As some of you may know, I voice Milla in Freedom Planet, a game I've been really proud to be a part of these last (almost) two years. It is shaping to be an incredible game with the always-likable voices of Suezo, Seymour, Edwyn, Dawn and many more talented beings! And finally, by June 30th, we will have it released. Ahhh! XD
To sate your curiousities in the meantime, why not read more about us on the new super-cool 'About Us' Page?!

- Chrono Rider: I recently got cast as Lyra the Ninja Raccoon in this pixel RPG adventure game, but the game just has 11 days to raise another $264! Think you'd like to help and earn some cool rewards in the process? Check out it's Kickstarter Page- You won't be disappointed at this quirky game! Set to be released in March of next year.

- Dragun Nimidae: SO THIS IS SUPER NEW AND I'M EXCITED. I can't disclose too much, but I will be voicing for the role of Reilly (Picture below) alongisde the incredible Miss Amber Lee Connors (Kaelin). Unfortunately, this beautiful project is just shy of the 25% mark with only 6 days to go. Maybe you can make the difference!? Share, like, comment and all that jazz, every donation or small bit of promotion helps immensely! Here's the Kickstarter Page.

Other Vocally Exciting Things!

As a quick summary, here are some cool voice acting related things that have happened:
- 400 fans on NGs?! WOW. Trips me out... Thanks so much, everyone!
- Passed 250 fans on YT! Quite a feat, considering I'm the worst uploader every... It's been a year since my last video *Hides shame*.
- For the first time ever, I am semi-assisting with the casting of an indie game... In a very small way, but none the less it thrills me! I would love to be more active in the casting AND voicing side of projects. So you need help with casting for your project? I'm bound to know the people you need!
- I met Budj (Animator of 'Gigi') and Joeylicious (Voice actor of Golly in 'Gigi')in real life on a trip to Melbourne a couple of months ago (I'm Sydney bound)! An epic day of markets and shopping and talking about cyberspace and brunch and being flirted with by male waiters (Erm... Joey). Was really quite the surreal experience!

I've been super fortunate to have been cast in some really incredible projects as of recent- And I like to share the goodwill around. As mentioned earlier, I tend to post quite a few auditions on my facebook page, and have even recommended a couple of online voice actors to people casting for their indie projects. It's the way it is in the voiceover industry, even if we are on a more amateur level. So if you're a voice actor and have any questions about what equipment you need, where to find projects or how to present yourself to people in cyberspace, feel free to drop me a message here or on my Facebook, and I'll be sure to message you back promptly!

And on a similar note- Should you need any voice acting, don't hesitate to drop me a private message here and I can send you links to my voice demo or/and submit an audition for your project.

Thanks guys!
:)

Helloooooo fellow newgrounders!

The Birthday

In short, last month I turned 21... Wheeeee! Thank you for some of the lovely messages I'd recieved, made the week extra special! So I hope this explains the delay when it has come to sending in my voice work and responding to emails. Things are much better now though, and I'm raging full speed ahead! So shoot me a message should you need a voice actress!

Projects

Newgrounds News: Right after the release of PokeGenXY (In which I'd voiced Hilda), Pokeball CL (developed by the always incredible Kel-chan) was given a daily feature on NGs! She always produces such amazing work, I can't wait to see what she's got in store next! I voiced Hilda (again!) and Misty in this pokemon parody- I guess if anyone else is after a Hilda; feel free to get in contact with me! Next up, I can honestly say I've been waiting months for Crystal Story II by Lan14n to come to NGs! In less than 48 hours I got to the Dargon King (And have lost, miserably, several times). But the point is; it's addictive, colourful, and well-designed, and all that awesome stuff that makes for an awesome game. I voice for Lina (Including the opening narration) and Rita in this impressive RPG. Some incredible voice actors contributed to this game; including Suezo (Jason Lord) and Pickle131 (Tina Kim)! The game recieved a daily feature and a weekly third place award- Play it noooooow!

Other Project News: It's fairly recent news, but I can finally announce that I will be voicing alongside Miss Kira Buckland, Amber Lee Connors and Tina Kim (again!) as Icari Isidolde in Sunrider (A beautiful space rpg/visual novel)- See it's ultimately successful kickstarter campaign HERE! It has also just been announced that the game has been Greenlit and therefore will be on Steam! Yaaaaay, happy days!

                   4015311_139200877992_poste_copy.jpg

Another game I provide voices for in the woodworks is Agent Egypt by WhatPixelYouOn- a quirky pixel game that currently has a playable windows demo that requires testing! For more information about becoming a tester (and a watch-through of the demo)- follow the link here to their youtube video. She doesn't appear in the demo, but I voice the Israeli mysterious traveller, Shayna! Keep an eye out for her upon the game's release!

Once again, this post has gotten a little long...  I wanted to include another bulletin board for this post, but instead- should anyone be after some voice acting opportunities- feel free to post a comment under this newspost and I will happily respond to you with a few relevant links! Thanks for reading, and like always I hope you're all doing well and don't hesitate to contact me should you need a voice actress! Til next time xx

Yeah.. There's a lot going on!

Happy New Year! I know it's very much belated, but I hope everyone had a great christmas and (so far) a very happy new year! I hope there was plenty of food, drinks and laughter to go around! Make sure you don't lose your christmas spirit just yet though, as I'll be voicing Gigi yet again in Budj's (http://budj.newgrounds.com/) upcoming christmas animation 'Gigi: Lighten Up!'

It will be released soon, so expect great things.

300 Fans: Ahhh I'd been out all day and shamefully missed the moment I'd finally cracked 300 fans (Currently at 305... D'oh!)- but I just wanted to thank all you lovely people for clicking that heart and subscribing. It's nice to know that this hobby of mine is reeling in some interest! For those that don't know the animation that was released that caused the spike, I voiced Hilda in CooliSushi's (http://coolisushi.newgrounds.com/) pokemon parody 'PokeGen XY'. It got a daily 3rd yesterday, and it still on the front page of newgrounds, so check it out: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/631330

Also, as always, if you would like to quicker access to voice acting opportunities, more in-depth details about my voice acting adventures (With pretty pictures of these roles and all!) and just overall an easier way of contacting me; my facebook voice page is the only link you need: https://www.facebook.com/ATheatricalSongBirdVA. Like it... Like it ten times.

Voice Acting Bulletin Board: Here you are, fellow voice actors! Links and details about the most sought-after casting calls at the moment! Has the Aimee stamp of approval all over them:

- Dreadout (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-l6CvZeU1Di6e3SjQ-qqJBNWbBVjqRyBKsCDxdMRjy0/edit): May be a good idea to be over 18 years of age for this... But it is a commercial PC game (Which means payment, yaaaay!) that has been greenlit on steam requiring approximately 15 voice actors (Both males and females). It's a survival horror game that has been released for an Indonesian audience, but now is being released for an English audience. As of right now there is no deadline, but I would hop on to it right now as there are so many auditions flooding in! Get yo freak on, as this game has horror themes crawling out of it's eyeholes.

- Crimson Rafflesia (http://voiceactingalliance.com/board/showthread.php?89738-Visual-Novel-Game-Crimson-Rafflesia-Male-and-Female-VAs-needed!): A visual novel game with gorgeous artwork, over 20 characters up for casting (Both males and females) and a deadline of February the 28th. Yup, all the odds are in your favour! You can even download the game for free now to get a feel for it before sending in your audition!

- Rainstorm Rivals (https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B8-rtaoLK3k7WVphRWFqcGp6MzQ&usp=drive_web): Kimlinh Tran ('Hnilmik') is the casting director for this quirky fighting game. Need I say more? SEND IN THOSE AUDITIONS NOW- You've only got til January 15th. Paid work (Once the game is released), 13 characters up for grabs for both genders, and a hell of a good game to put on your acting resume. Kimlinh is incredible to work with (I will admit- I was very fangirly when I was directed by her for my work in Galactic Phastasy Prelude- Which is now available on your androids, by the way!), so you do not want to miss this opportunity. Ultimate stamp of approval.

Will leave it there for now, as these should keep all your voice talking people busy for a while! Be sure to message me should any of you out there be cast so I can congratulate you (Providing you're not breaching any NDAs, that is)! And once again, if you need a little more traffic for a casting call (and you have experience and proof of your work on your current project- ike the links I'd provided above) private message me and I'll post it next time I release some news!

Question: I'm loving this format for creating newsposts now, but how does one edit the title of the links? I can only see the 'link' button that looks like a staple... Cause having www.something sure does downgrade a post! Any help would be much appreciated! XD

Thanks guys, til next time!!

Quite the premature newspost, but I've come across some awesome voice acting opportunities these last few days and as the deadlines are quickly approaching, I thought I'd post this a little earlier than anticipated! I've had a few people express that they would find this helpful- so here goes!

The Casting Calls
* Huniepop Auditions (8 Female Roles- Mature Themes): This project was recently kickstarted to almost 3 times its original goal... So if you've got no qualms about voicing for a dating RPG game (18+), I would sincerely consider looking into this paid opportunity! Many different accents welcomed! Am unsure about the deadline, but this opportunity has been out for almost 2 weeks, so I would get them in quickly if you're interested!
* Backstage Pass by Sakevisual (5 females, 4 males): Another paid opportunity- Make sure you have a paypal and skype account! I could not recommend this opportunity enough, Sakevisual is well-known for their quality visual novels and otome games; with particular note having produced the Jisei Murder Mystery Series. All auditions need to be in by December 3rd!
* Apotheon- Casting by Toonplatoon (4 males, 4 females): Once again, get your paypal and skype accounts ready. Deadline is on the 2nd of December, and make sure you're available sometime between the 3rd-10th of December for your live skype recording should you be cast. Mister Deven Mack is incredible to work with; for those looking at branching into the semi-professional side of the industry this is a perfect opportunity.
* Reklesscreati0ns upcoming Sci-Fi Series (2 females, 3 males): A voice acting opportunity here on newgrounds! Paul shows a lot of promise with this project with some quirky characters- you can send him a private message here on newgrounds or an email with your auditions, just make sure to send them in before December 1st!

If you've got a casting call coming up and want a little more exposure to reel in those auditions, feel free to shoot me a private message and I'll look into posting it on my new bulletin board! Please be mindful that I want to post genuine opportunities for voice actors to further their craft. This means that before posting the casting call on this board, you will have needed to have past works to show your animating style or if you have none to date (which is okay, everyone needs a place to try out); please provide evidence of your work in this current project you're looking at promoting. Passionate projects (and you can tell the difference) will equate to passionate responses from voice actors.
Happy auditioning, everyone!
